So, I am guessing...I am just not capable of writing a non-dog-blog since my dog is such a huge part of my daily life. I now get that. I understand what kind of a connection what I use to call "dog people" have with their dogs. I can now officially say....I am a "dog/cat person"...heavy on the dog. ;)
We put the new pair of hiking boots we bought my husband to task this weekend and we walked. Boy did we walk. The weather was just too amazing this weekend not to be out and about in it.
These photos are from Sunday's hike with our dog friends and Clover's teacher. We are still unsure how long a hike we did or how many dogs were with us, but it was a great time and a great group. We had a wonderful lunch togther man and dog at a shooting club in the woods. I had some amazing polish pirogies....not a common thing to find so I jumped at the chance.
We notice each time we bring out little fella to join this pack he learns something new and gains more and more confidence. That is priceless for us. Clover has always been a wonderfully funny dog with a huge personality, but mostly with and for people. He had a few dog friends, but as time went on and he was more and more alone with human and cats, his confidence as a dog was waining. He started showing some aggressive traits and obsessive traits. To be with a pack again is changing all that. It is sometimes hard on the human to hear the dogs verbally and sometimes physically "teach" another pack member, but I believe it is harder on the human than the canine.
Of course our little "mud puppy" did not miss a chance 4 minutes off the leash to find a muddy hole and run and play in it. Luckily it normally just brushes off the fur...normally. I fear not today for Clover....it is the dreaded BATH DAY
We had several children on the trip with us this time and I would say about 20 or so dogs. The children are respectful but fearless when playing amoungst the dogs. It is just wonderful to see. They all just run and jump and play....as it should be.
