We quickly jumped from our cozy bed...(at least I did...Clover was slow to follow), grabbed the camera and ran to the top floor of our house and caught these shots of the balloons heading out on the days mission.
During the day while the balloons are off flying across the German country side there is a celebration of Drachen...translated basically as DRAGONS! These beautiful kites are the stars of the day, from the huge geometric types to tiny bird sized kites. The whole park is bright with color...sadly this year...not with wind and there are many frustrated faces. Still loads of fun to be had...the kite sales people have a children's course on making kites which is going over big with the little people.
Later this afternoon...(what I am saving my energy and my batteries for) the balloons will return to the park and later still once the evening comes...they will alight the balloons filling the night sky with a beautiful glow.
I am off to prepare.
Now where did I put my tripod....only kidding.
Enjoy!
