So, today is my birthday...no this isn't a shameless plug. I got what all I want for my birthday this year...GREAT HEALTH!!
I am only a little sad about the fact that it is yet another birthday I spend with out my Father who shares my birthday. It is a pretty special thing to share your day with someone AND be Gemini's. I did get to talk with him over the phone which is a nice gift if you can't be together.
Had a great day here in Ladenburg...started the day off with a bike ride with my boys to a hidden beach. A little plotching and then a long ride which ultimately ended at the Eis cafe, (Italian gelato place). After a refreshing eis, we headed to the market where I bought fresh asparagus and strawberries. I made an amazingly tasty and amazingly easy lunch of steamed potatoes and asparagus with a drizzle of incredible olive oil a friend sent from Australia which was mixed with French fleur de sel,(sort of an herbed salt). DELICIOUS!! The strawberries we ate out of the bowl for dessert.
Now I am off to Mannheim to see a festival there. This is the weekend of Pfingst...(which I have NO IDEA what it means) but is always good parties. Remember all us Americans...this weekend is also a special one not only because it is my birthday...but it is Memorial day and this year...we OWE our service members past and present a moment of our busy time...to stop, remember, pray and thank them for their sacrifices...remember to add their families as well as they too sacrifice so much for our freedoms.
