Another amazing weather day...another ride...

Well, the sun is back in force again after two days of spotty clouds and cool temps. You need a bit of a wind breaker in the shade, but it makes for very comfortable ride. Clover and I "Croozed" for about four glorious hours. Well, all accept one...

We were headed to see the brown bears at the zoo in Heidelberg, but sadly we did not make it. About 200M from the zoo I hit a curb a bit off, (I should preface this with...I am known to be a bit of a "Lucile Ball"...it wasn't two days ago that I blew what shall forever be known as the "Exorcist soup"all over the kitchen while making pea soup in my pressure cooker...thus validating the life long warning from your mother about making pea soup in a pressure cooker...one has to test these wives tales from time to time)so, there, with that stated, I can finish with the tale) Everything would have been fine if it were just me on my bike, but I was pulling Clover in his wagon. Not pretty...I rolled the whole rig. Needless to say I was shaking like a leaf...a kind man thinking it was my baby in back came and helped me right the whole thing...I think he was noticeably shocked to find it was a very hairy dog in back and not a baby. It took me a good hour to stop shaking....Clover hopped out like it was no big deal. I figured if he never go back into the thing, but again he hopped right back in. Little trooper.

I decided that we should turn around and find a nice place to sit and decompress for a bit, yeah would be the smart thing to do. We stopped in a cafe along the Neckar that I have been wanting to try. Geko's Garten, WAAAY COOL place. Great music and atmosphere. On the weekend this place is hopping. Today I was an hour before the opening time but they let us stop and have coffee anyway. (I think my runny nose and sad face helped). I will include some photos, because you just can not properly describe it. Has a real individual feel to it..kind of Latin in flavor.

After our break we rode on back home along the Neckar. Where we stopped and watched some huge barges go through the locks and visited with some of the local farm animals.

I really should get to some of the things I have on my "to do" list today. Like plant about a hundred sunflower seedlings. I guess there is always tomorrow...and tomorrow....(perhaps not with my cycling abilities) and tomorrow.

Oh no! Were you hurt at all? Or just shaken? No fun. Too funny about the pea soup, though. Only you... :-) Great shots of the cows! And what a bashful horse!

We FINALLY have blue skies here today. Helps the mood a bit...

Glad that neither you nor the pooch were hurt in the fall. Can't wait to talk to you and get the story on the pea soup! Love the cows (always a fave). And the shots of the river.

Brendan and I enjoy seeing the pictures. We enjoyed our time in Germany and wish we could have met up there. So glad we have kept in touch.-Bethany Tucker
